The Lake House Wedding Venue in Piney Flats, Tennessee

Some wedding venues just have that feeling. You know the one—a little bit of magic, a whole lot of charm, and the kind of setting that makes your jaw drop the second you pull up. That’s exactly how we felt the first time we arrived at The Lake House Wedding Venue in Piney Flats, Tennessee. It’s truly one for the books.

It only took one look through Morgan and Caden’s fall wedding gallery to solidify it as one of our all-time favorites. Nestled right along the edge of Boone Lake, The Lake House offers that perfect mix of nature, elegance, and laid-back lakeside energy. And if you’ve ever been lucky enough to attend a lakeside wedding, you already know—the sunsets hit different.

In this post, I’m diving into everything that makes The Lake House such an incredible wedding venue. Whether you’re a Tennessee bride looking for something with soul, or just love the idea of saying “I do” by the water, this spot is worth adding to your venue wishlist.

Our First Experience at The Lake House

Our introduction to The Lake House was through Morgan and Caden’s dreamy fall wedding, and it was truly the best kind of first impression. The weather? Absolute perfection. Clear skies all day, warm golden light filtering through the trees, and a sunset that quite literally made me stop mid-photo to say, “Are you kidding me right now?!”

Their wedding day flowed effortlessly from the cozy getting ready moments in the bridal house to heartfelt vows overlooking the lake, and finally a celebration full of laughter, dancing, and killer views.

Scroll through their gallery and you’ll see exactly what I mean—but let’s talk about the venue itself, because it has so much to offer.

The Lake House Wedding Venue: Amenities & Perks You’ll Love

1. The Lake (Duh.)

Let’s just start with the obvious. The lake is the crown jewel of this venue—and it’s absolutely stunning. Boone Lake winds through Eastern Tennessee and adds the perfect natural backdrop to every part of your day. The venue is perched up on a hill, so when you stand at the top, you get this panoramic view of the water and surrounding woods that feels like it was made for wedding portraits.

For Morgan and Caden, we had to grab a few wide shots from the top of the hill. That vantage point is unreal—and let’s be honest, I may have gone a little overboard with the shutter because it was just too good.

There’s also a private dock that belongs to the venue. We didn’t use it for this particular wedding, but it’s an incredible option for a lakeside First Look, intimate vows, or golden hour portraits that will have your guests (and your photographer!) swooning.

2. The Bridal House (Cue the Heart Eyes)

Okay. This one might be my favorite part. The Bridal House is so much more than a getting ready room. It’s a full-on house—yes, like an actual, adorable one-bedroom house with a full kitchen, bathroom, makeup vanities, and a cozy living area for all the pre-wedding hangs.

It’s within walking distance to the venue (but far enough to feel like your own little retreat), and it has this charming wraparound porch that is just begging for robe photos, coffee cheers, and quiet moments before the big walk down the aisle.

There’s something really special about having a dedicated space where the bride and her crew can breathe, laugh, and relax before the festivities begin. And did I mention it’s ridiculously photogenic? Because it is.

3. The Checkered Grass Patio (Iconic.)

If The Lake House had a signature look, it would be the checkered grass patio. This is where Morgan and Caden shared their First Look, and let me tell you—it delivered. Big time.

The contrast of lush green grass with crisp white pavers creates a stunning visual impact. It feels modern and clean, but still fits seamlessly into the natural setting. It’s a fantastic spot for photos, obviously, but also makes a killer space for cocktail hour, an outdoor ceremony, or even an al fresco dinner setup under twinkle lights.

It’s versatile, stylish, and a total showstopper.

4. It’s Historic and Full of Charm

One of the hidden gems of this venue is its history. The Bridal House isn’t just cute—it’s also the original farmhouse from pre-1950s. That adds so much character to the property. It’s got that Southern charm that you just can’t fake. Wooden floors, antique touches, and little details that make the space feel lived-in and full of stories.

You can feel the personality of the place the moment you walk in. It’s peaceful. It’s cozy. And it totally sets the tone for a warm, heartfelt wedding day.

5. The Vibe (Because That Matters Too)

Here’s the thing about The Lake House—it’s not just beautiful. It feels good to be there. It has that relaxed, lakeside energy that puts everyone at ease, while still maintaining an elegant, refined aesthetic. It’s the kind of place that feels high-end without feeling stuffy. And that balance is hard to find.

The setting is peaceful, the views are insane, and there’s this calm energy that makes the whole day feel a little more magical. Whether you’re planning a big celebration or a more intimate gathering, this venue just gets it.

Why We Can’t Wait to Go Back

Morgan and Caden’s wedding was an absolute dream from beginning to end. The venue team was incredible to work with, the timeline flowed smoothly, and the photos? Some of our favorites ever.

We’re already counting down the days until we get to shoot at The Lake House again. It’s the kind of venue that brings out the best in everyone—brides, guests, vendors, and definitely photographers.
